About the plant :

Mandarin is native to tropical Asia. Its name is thought to be due to the colour of the costumes used by the mandarins, rulers of ancient China. In traditional Chinese medicine, the dried skin of the fruit is used in the regulation of ch'i, and also used to treat abdominal distension and improve digestion.
