Cinnamon is native to Sri Lanka and was already used in Ancient Egypt. It is one of the most powerful spices, used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine. It is part of the composition of many Ayurvedic dishes with several other spices such as Clove, Cardamom.. It preserves dishes and has digestive properties.
