About the plant :

Of the Myrtaceae family, the Eucalyptus is native to Australia, the aborigines used the sap of globular Eucalyptus or "blue gum tree" in direct application or washing on their wounds to hasten the healing. The blue gum tree was proclaimed as Tasmanian’s floral emblem on November 27, 1962. The Latin name of the species, «globulus», refers to the shape of the operculum of the fruit.
