About the plant :

Native to Corsica, Sicily and Calabria, this Pine is a sub variety of Black Pine. Thanks to the large amount of resin produced by the trunk and the strength of the trunk itself the Pin Laricio was used in the manufacture of ships and the resin as insulation and fuel for the torches during the last centuries.
